What's Biting?
Keeping Up with the Jones Inlet
Near coastal fishing out of Jones Inlet is world class. In fact, it’s why Freeport is nicknamed “The Fishing Capital of the South Shore”. On the Near Coast Charter, we’ll take you fishing from South Jersey to Montauk Point with the goal of finding you the greatest catch. We’ll head out about 3 nautical miles in our search for bass, bluefish, fluke, and weakfish. The fishing methods we will use vary depending on the bite, meaning we’ll troll, use live line baits, or use topwater baits. Expect a lively adventure with beautiful views and lots of thrills!

Captain Chris Anzelone
Captain Chris Anzelone has spent his entire life on the water. His father, Captain Paul Anzelone, was a commercial fisherman, and from a young age, Capt. Chris was fishing the bays and oceans off Long Island. In 2009 Chris got his U.S. Coast Guard 6-Pack Charter Boat License and pursued his childhood dream of becoming a captain. In honor of his late father, he established Legacy Charters Sport Fishing. Now he spends his time doing what he loves best.
Carrying on the Legacy
The Legacy is a 34-foot SeaVee boat. Equipped with twin 350-horsepower Mercury Verado motors, it can navigate the bays and oceans of Long Island with ease. It features Garmin marine electronics, autopilot, radar, and VHF radio. As a U.S. Coast Guard approved boat, the Legacy also carries safety equipment such as life jackets, flares, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.
